Bikini Car Wash for Auto Extreme Fans
What started out as a tame evening of music
and show cars in an open field turned into a wild crowd
converging around a cluster of ladies in their bikinis in
the middle of the road. Peculiar as it was that the ladies
were nowhere near a beach and that it was late in the night,
what made the occasion even more remarkable was that the
ladies were all set to wash a long line of cars for the
duration of the night!
The event was Auto Extreme’s Bikini Car Wash
held at Fort Bonifacio Global City. Auto Extreme is a
multi-faceted and fast-paced TV-magazine that covers more
than just motor sports and information for die-hard motoring
aficionados. Showing every Saturday at 4 p.m. on RPN 9, it
aims to reach out to the young crowd out there that’s still
on the prowl for new ideas, gadgets, car specialty shops and
trivia that could further fuel their passion for cars.
And fuel their passion it did – last June 7th
at Hot Rod Bar and Café at The Fort. Seven young ladies, in
colorful bikinis provided by Sari-sari, gamely took power
hose and foaming machine in hand to soap, rinse and shine a
line of cars that slowly grew as the night wore on. Rather
than dampening the crowd’s spirit, brief spells of rain only
sent the male-dominated audience momentarily scurrying for
shelter under nearby tents, to reemerge as soon as the
drizzle abated.
Gentlemen who participated in the bikini car
wash received snapshots of themselves next to their
freshly-washed cars, and of course, flanked by Auto
Extreme’s car wash ladies. The credit-card sized photos –
convenient enough to flash around – were compliments of
Marco Abesamis Photography.
Although it was highly unlikely for the crowd
to get bored while watching the girls working with the long
hoses in hand and posing for the cameras in between, Auto
Extreme continued to rev up the audience with live band
music, games and prizes for everyone present. And to make
sure that the evening’s customers went home completely
satisfied, Auto Extreme got its sponsors Turtle Wax, First
Station, Downpour and Wet Worx to help ensure the
professional quality of the car wash jobs. It seems the
clients indeed found the slightly pricey car wash
worthwhile, because when the skies finally let loose a long
and major downpour, there was still a long queue of cars
waiting for their turn. Unfortunately, Auto Extreme had to
call it a night – but with a promise that their audience can
expect more exciting and extreme events to come.
